United Rotary Brush Acquires Smith Equipment and Supply, Bringing 60-Year Family Legacy into Growing Southeast Network
Olathe, KS – September 24, 2026. United Rotary Brush (URB) has acquired Smith Equipment and Supply, a Lakeland, Florida-based manufacturer of brooms for street sweepers and construction equipment.
For over 60 years, Smith Equipment and Supply, founded in 1965 by James H. Smith, has been well known around the South and across the country for their quality polymer extrusion capabilities, and exceptional service to dealers, contractors, and municipalities needing brooms for sweepers and construction equipment.
Through this acquisition, URB will continue to produce and ship products out of Lakeland, ensuring that existing Smith Equipment and Supply customers will continue to enjoy the products and customer service that they have become accustomed to. In addition, Smith Equipment’s Karey Smith will join URB as VP of Southeast Operations.
With the addition of Smith Equipment’s Lakeland location to URB’s current facilities near Boston, Toronto, Kansas City, Phoenix, San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, URB is continuing to build upon its reputation as North America’s go-to source for rotary brushes and sweeper broom, and will be able to offer 1-2 day shipping times to a majority of our North American customers.
