URB Price Increases Due to Tariffs

June 22, 2018

Dear Valued URB & EPD Customers –

Currently, the economic circumstances caused by increased commodity prices and the implementation of tariffs by the United States on imported steel of 25% have placed us in a position beyond our control; this situation requires us to pass along some of this increase and the tariffs to our customers.  United Rotary Brush Corporation has no choice but to implement a 4% to 12% price increase on our various product categories, this increase will be implemented on all orders placed on or after Monday, June 25, 2018.

This price increase includes all products manufactured and sold by United Rotary Brush Corporation (URB) and our Engineered Products Division (EPD).

In addition, due to the growth of our industry and the industries we serve, all rotary products manufactured by United Rotary Brush have seen increased lead times of two to three weeks based on product availability.   United Rotary Brush is committed to improving these lead times and is currently running our Lenexa, KS plant 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to meet the demands of the market. For our Engineered Products Division customers our plant in Plain City, OH has also added an additional shift to meet your needs.

It is our intention to return to the cornerstone of what our company was built on and meet the two to three-day lead times our rotary division is known for; this will take time.  We are investing in the future of United Rotary Brush and this industry by expanding our capacity out to other plants and gambling on the business and our employees that the trajectory of our industry, your industry, and the economy will continue to sky rocket.  Until such time as we are able to meet the increased capacity and delivery times we are known to provide, we are encouraging all of our customers to order more frequently in anticipation of the extended lead times and not to wait until the last few days of the life cycle of their brooms and brushes.

We appreciate your understanding in this matter. Thank you for your business and continued support.

Warmest Regards,
